Accessible Voting Options

Accessible Drive Through Ballot Drop Box and return in person location.

You may return your ballot to the drive through ballot drop box in the alley behind the police station at 260 6th Street, Colusa CA. Look for the wheelchair symbol on the sign behind the drop box location. You may also return your ballot in person to the Elections Department at 546 Jay St., using the Historic Courthouse elevator from the first floor or to the Education Village at 499 Margurite St. on Election Day November 5th, 2024. You may also return your ballot to any polling location or vote center in the state of California.

Curbside voting

You may vote from a nearby accessible location, including a car. An Elections team member will qualify you to vote and return the voted ballot to the Elections Department. To request curbside voting assistance, you may call 1-877-458-0501, in advance, to coordinate a time, or have an assistant make the request for you.  Pull up to 546 Jay Street, Colusa California and an assistant will come out.

Accessible voting system

The Elections Department has a touch screen ballot marking device available in either English or Spanish language. The system has an audio option that can read the ballot to you, and can magnify the words on the screen to make it easier to read. Additional accessibility features include accessible tactile interface (ATI), which allows personal assistive devices such as sip-n-puff, or paddle switches.

A ride to your polling site

The Colusa County Transit will provide free rides on Election Day during their normal hours of operation. Transit provides service Monday – Friday. All vehicles are ADA compliant and transit runs approximately between the hours of 7:30 am to 4:30pm.  Call 458-0BUS (458-0287) for scheduling and more information. 

Ballot delivery to your home

You may designate a person to pick-up and deliver a vote-by-mail ballot from the elections office. Please call our office for details.
