2. Can I request materials from another library?

With a library card, Colusa County Free Library patrons can request materials from the Sutter County Library, Folsom Public Library, Woodland Public Library and the Sacramento Public Library.
If the desired items cannot be located in the catalog, patrons may request them through Inter Library Loan. Online Library Catalog

3. Do you have eBooks and eAudio books?

Yes. The Colusa County Free Library offers access to more than 50,000 eBooks, eAudio books and full text journals and magazine, through our Library to Go, Enki, and Zinio platforms. Additional full-text books and periodicals can be found in the Gale and EBSCO databases hosted on our website. All you need is a library card! eLibrary

4. How do I use the library's computers?

A library card is not required to use the library's computers. Each library has a sign-up sheet. Time slots are 30 minutes in length. Individuals can use computers as long as needed if there is no one else waiting for computer use.

5. What is a Lexile Measure, and how do I find it for my child?

There are two kinds of Lexile measures: the Lexile reader measure and the Lexile text measure. Students receive a Lexile reader measure as a score from a reading test - it describes his or her reading ability. Books and other texts receive a Lexile text measure from a software tool called the Lexile Analyzer - it describes the book's reading demand or difficulty.
When used together, these measures can help match a reader with reading material that is at an appropriate difficulty, or help give an idea of how well a reader will comprehend a text. The Lexile reader measure can also be used to monitor a reader's growth in reading ability over time. Lexile helps readers grow, and helps parents and teachers know.
When a Lexile text measure matches or is in the range of a Lexile reader measure, this is called a targeted reading experience. The reader will encounter some level of difficulty with the text, but not enough to get frustrated. This is the best way to grow as a reader - reading text that's not too hard but not too easy.
